Potteries Hackspace

Let's make something!

Potteries Hackspace @ North Staffs Raspberry Jam

Tonight was the North Staffs Raspberry Jam.

If you’ve never heard of a Raspberry Jam, it’s where a bunch of people gather to talk about the Raspberry Pi or demonstrate their project.

Potteries Hackspace were there representing. As diligently as always John was able to make it down in good time to setup his arcade project.

There was quite a few other chaps there with various projects, some lighting up LEDs using Python scripts, others programming the entire operating system from scratch from ARM assembly.

Thanks to Paul Simmons, Jonathan Westlake and everyone else who got involved.

Unfortunately I got there a little late so with what little time I had, I took a few photos of the action.

Thanks to Chris who very kindly donated a Raspberry Pi to Potteries Hackspace, which will proudly be permanently purposed at the space.

Not only that, but also donated a tool kit which has kick started our reach our efforts towards helping the Approach charity run scheme Men in Sheds, based in Hanley Park to get back on their feet after being recently hit by theft.

If you’ve got any spare tools, please make them available to us and we’ll gladly pass them on.

All in all, it was a great get together and I for one hope to see and be part of more events like this in future (perhaps with a bit more time to spare next time! 🙂

So, if you’ve got a Raspberry Pi project (complete or incomplete) then let us know and we’ll be sure to include it in the next event.

Thanks everyone!

UPDATE: If everyone who attended would like to give feedback, that would be great. Also, Paul has mentioned an upcoming event “IT Family Fun Day – Let’s Do Technology”.
