Make:Shift:Do is a UK wide doors open festival of digital making.
Crafts Council, the V&A, the Institute of Making and Ultimaker UK have invited us to host an open day or workshop for Make:Shift:Do: a festival celebrating digital innovation in craft.
Potteries Hackspace were one of around 30 makerspaces, FabLabs, hackspaces, maker collectives, creative programmes, educational initiatives and similar that opened their doors during the 2015 Make:Shift:Do weekend to share their work with the public.

Venue description: Potteries Hackspace formed in 2010 as a group of technology enthusiasts, engineers and creative minds that started meeting on a regular basis in an effort to collaborate on various projects, and to share skills and experience. Our aim is to provide and maintain a shared community workspace and equipment in the area around Stoke-on-Trent, known as the Potteries. We currently have a spacious workshop in Newcastle-under-Lyme, located in what used to be Randles garage, our entrance is up the ramp opposite Wagon & Horses, at the corner of Higherland and Seabridge Rd. Members have 24/7 access to this space and we host public events including weekly open evenings (Tuesdays, 7pm). From computer networks to welding, electrical engineering to wood turning, and even a kitchen sink, we enjoy making things with the technologies available. We aim to use this space to further and share our skills and knowledge with the local community.
Target audience: Anyone is welcome. The audience might be novices with a vague interest right through to experts who wish to volunteer. They might be young or old, or somewhere inbetween. Hackspace is open to anyone.
